YES.... these are splatter targets, when you shoot them, some of the surface material comes off to make it easier to see your hole at a distance.
The smaller your ammo the more challenging the game will be, use an airgun, firearm, archery, slingshot, blowgun.... Shotguns not recommended.
And... It's a target that keeps on giving. The whole target is a splatter target, so you can shoot all the trees and other items on the target when the game is complete.
